Job description

This position will include material handling of products. The employee in this position will be responsible for receiving stock, recording information about product, preparing it for shipment and driving a Non-CDL delivery vehicle to the end user. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds is required. Work environment includes warehouse areas with periods of continual standing or walking. The ability to read and understand information/ideas presented in writing is required. Scanner, computer and inventory control experience, forklift experience are a plus.

Essential Functions/Duties
  • Follow safety rules and work procedures.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data by scanner, manually or using computer.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms and warehouse.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, or other labeling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
  • Drives truck (non-CDL) to transport materials to and from specified destinations by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
  • Operate a forklift to load/unload truck when necessary
  • Ability to maintain positive relations within all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, adapt to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.
Physical/Cognitive Demands

This is a largely physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
