Job summary

Echo Electric, a leading electrical distributor and brand of Sonepar, is hiring a Driver/Warehouse Associate in Illinois. The role focuses on safe, efficient delivery of electrical supplies and assisting with general warehouse duties. The starting rate is $18-22 per hour, with a 7 AM–4 PM, Monday through Friday shift.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical supplies safely to customers and maintain courteous service.
• Load and unload materials from truck with proper equipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Receive, check in deliveries, and process returns to ensure quantity and quality.
• Pick, pack, and ship orders of varying sizes, from small boxes to pallets.
• Record damaged or missing materials and report observations to Warehouse Manager.

We have a great opportunity for a customer-oriented Driver/Warehouse Associate to join our team! As a Driver/Warehouse Associate, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and courteous delivery of electrical supplies, materials, and parts. You will also assist with general warehouse duties.

Starting Rate: $18-22 (based on experience)

Shift: 7 AM- 4 PM, M-F.

We are looking for associates who:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• A Class C license or the ability to obtain a Class C license within 30 days of employment.
• Successful completion of all driver qualifications as specified in the Department of Transportation regulations, including pre-employment physical examination, regularly scheduled follow-up physical examinations, and proof of a safe driving record.
• Drive company truck(s) with great care, assuring compliance with all prevailing traffic laws and legal speed limits, and safety protocol.
• Provides associateswith possible solutions and/or appropriate contact information when problems arise, reports observations of customer opportunities and problems to the Warehouse Manager.
• Loads and unloads materials from truck in an accurate, efficient, and safe manner, utilizing proper body mechanics and proper equipment (e.g., forklift).
• Receive and check-in deliveries, pickups and returns to ensure quality and quantity of products.
• Cut wire, rod, or strut, safely utilizing the appropriate equipment.
• Sweep floors remove trash and otherwise maintain the warehouse in a tidy and safe condition.
• Pick, pack, and ship orders. Orders range from a small box to pallets.
• Record losses of damaged or defective materials.

What you bring:

• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles.
• Ability to unload material at customer site, including heavy and bulky items.
• Willingness to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jack, and power tools. You will also use push carts and rolling ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to be on your stand for extended periods and traverse the warehouse with or without accommodation.
• Basic problem-solving skills and computer skills.
