Job summary

Consolidated Electrical Distributors in Dallas, TX seeks a Driver / Warehouse associate to pick and pull daily orders, deliver to customers, and stock shelves. You will operate a 26-foot flatbed, use a forklift, and handle receiving, packing, and shipping while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Job Description

• Pick and pull daily orders for same day and next day deliveries

• Make deliveries to customers in a timely and professional manner utilizing a 26 foot flatbed

• Stock shelves by hand, pallet jack and forklift

• Team oriented and task driven to work in an efficient, clean & safe warehouse

• Follow office paper work and operational procedures

• Responsibilities include delivery driving, counter sales, receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment

Reports to: Systems & Facilities Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be reliable and arrive to work in a timely manner

• Have excellent knowledge of the DFW Metroplex

• Customer oriented and friendly

• Able to lift and unload up to 70lbs

• Able to drive a 26 foot flatbed

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School or Equivalent Degree

• Experience with Commercial Motor Vehicles if possible.

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary based on needed activities and will include warehouse, sales floor, and external environments. Some activities will include lifting (maximum 70 lbs.), sorting, standing, and possible extreme heat/cold conditions. This position operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver company materials to customers in a professional manner

• Effectively and professionally meet and communicate with the public

• Drive, automatic/manual transmission vehicle (safely & legally, driving violations may jeopardize your position as a driver)

• Shipping and receiving duties; including loading and unloading trucks

• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to picked, packed, distributed or shipped/transferred

• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.

• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence

• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department

• Use computer and RF guns to manage sales orders, inventory and enter information into business management system

• Participate in cycle counting of physical inventory

• Open boxes and other containers

• Operate wire cutter to cut wire according to customer orders

• Operate forklift in warehouse setting

• Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times

• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic

• Assist customers at will call and walk-ins as required
