What You’ll Do
- Execute picking, packing, staging, and shipping of customer orders with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform unloading, labeling, receiving, and put‑away of inbound materials to maintain smooth warehouse flow.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in all warehouse functions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused warehouse environment.
- Drive commercial motor vehicles (CDL required) to deliver materials to customer locations.
- Ensure proper load securement using straps, chains, and binders while protecting materials during transit.
- Conduct pre‑trip, in‑route, and post‑trip inspections in full compliance with DOT regulations.
- Complete deliveries on time while providing a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery documentation, and compliance records.
- Transition seamlessly between warehouse and driving responsibilities based on operational needs.
- Support branch operations during driver shortages, peak volumes, and operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to meet delivery and service commitments.
- Contribute to improving operational efficiency and reducing delays and manual work.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.
- Valid CDL Class A (or B, based on fleet) license in good standing, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling processes.
- Understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and safe driving practices.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and material handling equipment.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for inventory accuracy and order fulfillment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety procedures, and delivery documentation.
- Ability to adapt and shift priorities based on operational demands.
- Physical ability to lift 50–90 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ability to safely operate equipment and vehicles in a safety‑sensitive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lumber or building materials distribution.
- Forklift certification and hands‑on warehouse equipment experience.
- Flatbed delivery experience with strong load securement knowledge.
- Prior experience balancing both warehouse and driving responsibilities in a distribution environment.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
- Pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
