Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Maintain daily vehicle inspections and cleanliness of the vehicle and common areas.
• Document trip logs, mileage, and fuel usage and report any issues to the transportation coordinator.
• Follow all state/federal transportation laws and facility policies.

Job Summary

The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents of the assisted living facility to medical appointments, social outings, shopping trips, and other scheduled activities. The role requires exceptional driving skills, may require a Class B license with a Passenger Endorsement, and a dedication to resident safety and comfort. Additional duties include maintaining general cleanliness of facility common areas.

Job Duties

Essential Functions

• Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication.
• Contribute to Community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, and other vendors or persons.
• Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and compliments all other Community positions.
• Able to maintain work pace appropriate to given work load. Perform activities on schedule while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality within specified tolerance.
• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Secure wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices during transport.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, including brakes, fuel levels, tires, lights, and wheelchair lift operation.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure resident and Administrator permission prior to removing to discarding property.
• Adhere to all state and federal transportation laws and regulations.
• Follow facility policies for transportation and resident care.
• Maintain updated certifications, including CPR and First Aid, if required.
• Accurately document trip logs, mileage, and fuel usage.
• Communicate with the transportation coordinator regarding schedule updates and resident needs.
• Notify staff of any resident concerns or incidents during transport.
• In between trips maintain general cleanliness of common areas and facility

• Perform other related assignments as required. Be prepared to work in any area of the department.
