Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring a Trainer to lead classroom instruction and provide behind-the-wheel training for new drivers, ensuring readiness and compliance with safety standards across our service areas.

The role requires 1–3 years of training and transportation safety experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some travel within the service area is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of training experience.
• 1–3 years of transportation, safety, or related experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication and time-management skills.
• Fluent English communication.
• Ability to travel within the service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel training to new drivers.
• Conduct refresher training for current drivers.
• Deliver additional safety and compliance training to location employees.
• Track attendance and maintain training documentation in accordance with policies.
• Assist with accident investigations, safety meetings and compliance forms.
• Travel within the service area to provide training at multiple locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
