Performance Food Group is seeking a driver training specialist to train and re-train delivery drivers on job duties, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will use training guides and conduct both classroom and field sessions to ensure effective knowledge transfer and adherence to DOT standards.
The role emphasizes feedback, development actions, and teamwork within the department to support safe, efficient delivery operations.
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. Responsible for training and/or re-training delivery drivers on on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties. Utilizes all company training guides, manuals, checklists and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety and DOT regulations. Performs preferred work method observations and provides verbal and written feedback on driver trainees' performance including suggested development actions. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Required Experience: 1 - 3 Years
At least 2 years of route Driving experience overall
Route delivery driver experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations.
Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge (i.e. PeopleNet)
Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card
Must be 21 years of age
Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Preferred Education: Associates/2-year technical; Technical school, Associates degree or other certification in learning and development training methods
Preferred Experience: 1 - 3 Years
Transportation experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry route delivery
Small group and one-on-one training experience Basic/Intermediate computer skills
