Job summary

IMC Companies LLC is seeking a Safety Specialist in Brooklyn, OH to perform regulatory compliance and safety tasks at the terminal. The role requires interaction with employees, independent contractors and vendors, plus in-person safety coaching with drivers.

The position is open for entry to mid-level candidates and is in‑person at Cleveland/Brooklyn, OH. Responsibilities include driver orientation, ELD administration, and safety training aligned with FMCSR and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Lead driver orientation and recruit qualified Owner Operators and Company Drivers.
• Manage DOT ELD requirements and educate drivers on using ELD equipment.
• Conduct safety compliance investigations, risk mitigation and hazard recognition.
• Coordinate with vendors and maintenance/inspections for company vehicles and chassis.
• Coach drivers to improve safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and coordinate new driver orientation classes
• Assist in recruiting qualified Owner Operators and Company Drivers
• Communicate with Application Auditor to qualify applicants
• Report new hire information to IMC
• Conduct CMV road tests for new drivers
• Educate drivers on proper use of ELD equipment and monitor usage
• Maintain inventory of ELD equipment and order new devices as needed
• Install, maintain, and remove on‑vehicle ELD and camera hardware
• Address HOS violations and process drug/alcohol test notices
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance programs and coach on camera events
• Promote a safe working environment through hazard recognition and risk mitigation (OSHA)
