Job summary

The Driver’s License Examiner position with the State of Arkansas administers knowledge, vision, and road tests to ensure applicants meet state standards for safe driving. This role evaluates applicant competency, verifies eligibility, and enforces motor vehicle laws.

Qualifications

• At least six months of experience in motor vehicle licensing, customer service, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Administer knowledge (written), vision, and road skills tests for all classes of driver’s licenses, including Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs).
• Evaluate applicant driving skills through road tests, ensuring compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
• Inspect applicant vehicles before road tests to verify compliance with Arkansas vehicle safety standards.
• Explain test procedures, pass/fail criteria, and retesting requirements in a clear and professional manner.
• Record test results accurately and ensure proper documentation for licensing approval or denial.
