Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is seeking a Program Instructor for Drivers Education in the Community Education division. This stipend position involves delivering classroom instruction, conducting parent information sessions, and administering knowledge testing under Minnesota Driver Education rules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a current, not expired Minnesota Teaching License.
• Must possess a valid, unexpired Traffic Safety Education certificate.
• Must be willing to obtain Certification and become licensed by the DPS to proctor MN State Knowledge Testing.
• Must possess a valid class D Driver's License for 3 years.
• Must be able to work with individuals with a wide range of skills.
• Must have knowledge of the classroom curriculum for class D motor vehicles.
• Must have effective organization of lessons and preparation to conduct classroom instruction.
• Must have good organizational skills and demonstrate dependability, promptness, and punctuality.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide required classroom instruction, Parent Information Sessions and Knowledge Testing according to Minnesota Driver Education Rules.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of participants.
• Develop skills and abilities by attending meetings, in-service training, and other opportunities.
• Maintain communication and professional customer service toward parents, staff participants, and the general public.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
• Complete and submit required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
• Report concerns to the Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
