Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation is seeking a transportation/maintenance assistant to provide transportation services to students and perform general facility duties at the center.

The role includes driving students to sites, inspecting vehicles, supervising students when needed, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. CDL endorsement is required or to be pursued promptly; basic maintenance tasks may be assigned. High school completion and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Fluent reading and writing in English.

• Possess a valid driver’s license and qualify for company sponsored vehicle insurance.
• CDL/Passenger bus endorsement required or to be pursued immediately.

Responsibilities

• Transport students by bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
• Transport equipment and/or commodities to the center.
• Inspect vehicles and report mechanical issues to Lead Driver/Dispatcher or Facilities Manager.
• May supervise students on activities and ensure safety during outings.
• Maintain cleanliness of Center vehicles and perform maintenance/custodian tasks as needed.
• Attend required staff training sessions and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for supplying transportation services to students and performing general maintenance duties throughout the center.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Must create and sustain positive working relationships with co-workers.
• Adheres to all Department of Labor and Career Systems Development policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.
• Transport students by bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
• Transports equipment and/or commodities to the center.
• Inspects vehicles and reports any mechanical issues to Lead Driver/Dispatcher or Facilities Manager.
• May supervise students on various activities, such as recreation, medical appointments, shopping trips, etc.
• Maintains the cleanliness of all Center vehicles.
• Transports equipment and/or commodities to the center.
• Inspects and reports on the mechanical condition of vehicles.
• Performs duties of maintenance worker and or custodian as needed such as ground keeping, snow removal and custodial duties.
• Attends required staff training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum: Some high school. Ability to fluently read and write English. Model company Core Values. Must possess a valid driver’s license and qualify for company sponsored vehicle insurance. Must have or immediately seek CDl/ Passenger bus endorsement.

Preferred: Six months work-related experience and HSE/GED/HSD preferred.

Knowledge: Must possess valid State driver’s license and commercial driver’s license with passenger bus endorsement. Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certificate. Ability to operate power tools.
