Position Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver provides industry-leading service to clients by managing all customer document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policy and all laws. Responsibilities include loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring cargo is securely transported.

Key Job Activities:
  1. Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
  2. Conducts pre/post-trip vehicle checks and driver check-in.
  3. Reports maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher.
  4. Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage risks.
  5. Complies with all driver fitness and hours-of-service laws.
  6. Completes and maintains DOT logs as applicable.
  7. Maintains security during collection by ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are locked.
  8. Uses hand-held devices to service accounts, ensuring barcode accuracy and up-to-date locations.
  9. Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate collection of confidential materials.
  10. Handles customer inquiries and problems promptly and professionally.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:

At least 3 years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management. Valid driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record. May require immunizations and credentials based on customer needs. Non-native English speakers are welcome if they can read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.
