Compensation:

Starting pay: $18/hr + OT + $3k bonus

Position Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading service to clients while managing all customer document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring all cargo is securely fastened before transport.

Key Job Activities:

• Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
• Performs pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck before leaving or at the end of the day.
• Reports maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
• Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and equipment damage.
• Complies with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service.
• Completes and maintains DOT logs when applicable.
• Maintains security when emptying consoles and collection totes by ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are locked.
• Services accounts using a handheld device, ensuring barcoded consoles/containers, accurate locations, and correct type and quantity.
• Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate collection and servicing of confidential material.
• Handles customer problems and inquiries promptly, prioritizing customer and company interests.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
• Current driver’s license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
• May require immunizations and credentials based on customer requirements.
• Stericycle welcomes non-native English speakers who can read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports as required by law.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certifications and/or Licenses:

• Driver's License
• Medical Examiners Certification
