Job description

Position Purpose:

The Driver Route Hybrid Non-CDL fills in as a Commercial non-CDL driver in the Shred-it and Medical Waste business as needed. This role covers routes during vacations or sick leaves, including remote transfer locations, ensuring industry-leading service for document destruction and medical waste removal. The driver maintains the integrity of service, upholds Stericycle policies, and embodies the company's vision, mission, and values.

Starting Rate of Pay - $22.14 per hour

Key Job Activities:
  1. Perform onsite/offsite document destruction and medical waste pickup, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  2. Plan daily routes based on customer needs, review paperwork, and prepare trucks accordingly.
  3. Ensure waste is packaged and ready for transport according to regulations.
  4. Provide excellent customer service, communicating issues promptly.
  5. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, report maintenance issues.
  6. Operate equipment safely to minimize risks.
  7. Comply with all laws regarding driver fitness and hours, complete all paperwork accurately.
  8. Maintain security during waste collection, ensuring proper documentation and container locking.
  9. Communicate route changes or issues to supervisors and ensure coverage awareness.
  10. Manage routes efficiently, ensuring timely service.
  11. Handle customer inquiries and problems expediently.
  12. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report issues.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of driving experience, preferably with shred or box trucks.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent record.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Ability to obtain a medical certification.
  • May require immunizations or credentials per customer needs.
  • Proficiency in English for communication and documentation.
