Job summary

Austin Powder seeks a Class A CDL OTR Team Driver to load, transport, and unload materials in a two-person sleeper team. You will operate a tanker-equipped semi-tractor across the United States, ensuring safe handling and accurate paperwork.

The role requires compliance with DOT/UPS standards, CDL-Tank-HazMat endorsements, and the ability to work with a partner under dispatcher guidance. Excellent safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CDL Class A with Tank and HazMat endorsements.
• At least 1 year of driving experience or CDL training completed.
• Must be able to obtain ATF explosives license.
• Must comply with state & federal explosive laws.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate controls safely.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a company-provided sleeper tractor for US deliveries.
• Unload tankers into storage using onboard pump.
• Record inventory and perform pre/post-trip inspections and documentation.
• Follow Dispatcher directions and maintain safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain professional relations with customers, vendors, and agencies.

Job Summary

The Class A CDL OTR Team Driver is responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading materials from trailers and tanks to/from specified destinations. This position will be apart of a driver team of two and drive a company-provided semi-tractor with a sleeper and tanker.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Drives and/or operates truck for delivery across United States.

• Unload tankers into storage bin at customer using onboard pump.

• Pulls/loads/unloads/counts inventory pre/post-trip.

• Completes pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and reports maintenance requirements to management.

• Follows the direction of the Transportation Dispatcher.

• Develops and maintains positive work relationship with co-workers, customers, vendors, and government agencies.

• Displays work behavior that are honest and ethical in pursuit of APC business goals.

• Complies with APC inventory management procedures.

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by assuring regulatory compliance at the location, customer sites, and during transit.

• Completes and maintains accurate, legible paperwork as required by company policies and procedures, Department of Transportation, and by other federal and state agencies.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• 21+ years of age as required by DOT.

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1+ years of driving experience or have completed a CDL training class.

• Must be able to acquire an ATF license to possess explosives.

• Must meet requirements of all State & Federal explosive laws.

• Must possess a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the following:

• Class A – any combination over 26,001 pounds.

• Hazardous Material

• X-Combination of Tank and Hazardous Material

• Air Brake

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product bulletins, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to identify products by sight.

• Ability to frequently walk, stand, and sit.

• Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to operate controls, and able to repetitively lift or carry 50Ibs.

Work Environment

• Outdoor climate and terrain – Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.

• Must be able to sleep in sleeper while team driver is driver is driving truck.
