Job summary

Jobtailor in Dallas seeks a Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruitment for CDL drivers, sourcing across Indeed, Craigslist, an internal ATS, cold outreach, and past-applicant databases.

You will screen MVR/PSP, coordinate drug screens and road tests, interview candidates, and guide onboarding with offers and start dates, building strong retention through proactive support.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in safety and training; transportation industry preferred
• Experience hiring drivers from multiple states in the US is required
• Safety/HOS and DOT regulations knowledge

Responsibilities

• Screen candidates by reviewing MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse records, verify employment history and CDL endorsements
• Conduct interviews to assess candidate fit and driver expectations
• Coordinate drug screens, background checks, and road tests with safety teams
• Guide candidates through onboarding including offers, pay structure, and start-date logistics
• Build post-hire relationships to support retention and address early concerns
• Track requisition pipelines and hiring metrics across roles
• Monitor competitor postings and market pay rates to stay competitive

• Source candidates through Indeed, Craigslist, internal ATS, cold calling, text/SMS outreach, and past-applicant databases
• Screen candidates by reviewing MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse records, verifying employment history, and confirming CDL/endorsements
• Conduct interviews to assess candidate fit, experience, and driver expectations
• Coordinate drug screens, background checks, and road tests with compliance and safety teams
• Guide candidates through onboarding, including offer details, pay structure, dispatch handoff, and start-date logistics
• Build lasting post-hire relationships with drivers to support retention and address early concerns
• Track requisition pipelines and hiring metrics across multiple open roles
• Monitor competitor postings and market pay rates to maintain competitive sourcing

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years in safety and training; transportation industry preferred
• Previous experience in driver training, recruitment, and safety and compliance is an asset
• Experience hiring drivers from different states within the US is required
• Safety-driven expertise in HOS, DOT regulations, and driver welfare
• At least three years of truck driving experience is an asset
• Solid understanding of the trucking industry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
