Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a part-time Driver in Villisca, IA, with 15 weekly hours and a day shift. The role requires a valid driver’s license, BLS certification (or within six months) and strong customer service skills.

You will transport residents, handle patient interactions with confidentiality, and maintain equipment per DOT requirements. Training is provided to meet Sanford Health standards.

Job Summary

Combines motor vehicle handling ability, communication skills and patient/resident handling. The Driver is patient/resident sensitivity and confidentiality are a must, and are practiced at all times. The Driver combines communication skills and patient/resident handling. On a continuum the driver must develop an understanding of the patient's/resident's physical and emotional status. The Driver works with all ages of patients/residents. Transports safely and as scheduled. The Driver assures that all support equipment are well maintained and in good operating condition. Sets up equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and internal policy. The Driver maintains appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and internal required reports. Aware and communicates scheduling conflicts as needed or predicted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have excellent customer service skills. Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
• The employee must have a current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. If not certified at time of hire, must be certified within six months. Training will be provided.
