Job Summary:

As a Driver/PCA, you'll bring patience, consistency, and care to every interaction. You'll transport participants safely to and from their appointments and support their daily needs either in the center or in their homes. Because participant transportation and care needs can change throughout the day, this role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to adjust schedules while maintaining safe, reliable, and compassionate service.

This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, cooperative, and enjoys helping others through steady, hands‑on work. You'll be part of a supportive team where routines are clear, communication is kind, and participant safety always comes first.

Hourly Wage:
  • $15.90 /hr. to start - $16.90 /hr. after 90 Days
  • Eligible for Frontline Staff Incentive Plan, up to $900 paid quarterly.
Schedule:

Per Diem, Flexible Hours. Specific work hours will be established in consultation with your supervisor. While transportation schedules are planned in advance whenever possible, participant needs may occasionally require early start times, schedule adjustments, weekend rotations, route changes, or additional trips throughout the day.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Drive participants safely to and from scheduled appointments and the center.
  • Assist participants on and off the vehicle with care and courtesy.
  • Operate wheelchair lifts, secure mobility devices, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Adjust transportation routes as needed while following established schedules.
  • Run occasional errands for the center, such as picking up supplies or medications.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, staff, and outside agencies.
  • Report any changes in participant condition to the care team.
  • Support participants as a Personal Care Aide when needed, including bathing, toileting, and other daily care.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, orderly, and safe; report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in ongoing Quality Initiative training.
  • Adapt transportation schedules throughout the day based on participant appointments, hospital discharges, cancellations, dialysis treatments, or changes in care needs.
  • Communicate promptly with schedulers, clinic staff, and the interdisciplinary team regarding schedule updates, participant needs, and transportation changes.
  • Safely transport participants to recurring medical appointments, including dialysis and specialty care, while maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain flexibility to support changing transportation priorities while ensuring participant safety, punctuality, and quality care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Everyone's journey is unique. Even if you haven't done it all, your dedication to learning and helping others is what counts. With our training, mentorship, and career development programs, we'll help you grow and succeed.

What Makes You a Great Fit:
  • Patient, understanding, and comfortable adapting when schedules or transportation priorities change.
  • Team-oriented and cooperative; communicates kindly and calmly.
  • Brings consistency, professionalism, and reliability to every interaction.
  • Able to follow established guidelines and work closely with the team when making decisions.
  • Detail-focused and able to stay organized throughout the day.
  • Comfortable managing changing routes, recurring appointments, and unexpected schedule adjustments while maintaining participant safety.
  • Communicates proactively with teammates and supervisors when plans change.
  • Dependable and committed to punctuality, including early morning starts and occasional weekend rotations as needed.
  • Able to operate handicap‑accessible vehicles safely.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire — we'll provide the training!)
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with the frail or elderly population is a plus — but not required. We'll provide hands‑on training and mentoring to help you grow!
  • Q‑Straction Academy Certification (training provided)
Requirements:
  • Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area and adjust routes based on participant appointments and transportation needs.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, and TB Screening.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move during working hours.
