Job summary

Clearwater Newport Beach is seeking a part-time Driver to provide safe transportation for residents of a premier luxury senior living community in Newport Beach, CA. The role requires a Class B license, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.

The position offers competitive pay ($22.00–$24.00 per hour), a schedule of Sunday–Monday 8:30am–5:00pm, and benefits including paid time off and 401(k) contributions.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class B license and the ability to operate community vehicles safely.
• Background clearances as required by regulations.
• First Aid/CPR/BLS certificate required and health requirements including TB.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and transport residents to doctors, local outings, and events as directed.
• Assist with safe loading/unloading and seating of residents in vehicles.
• Daily vehicle inspections and safety checks before use; report issues to supervisor.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure registration/insurance are up to date.
• Maintain resident location/status communications during trips.
• Support scheduling of outings and appointments and assist with clerical tasks.

Our Drivers help create a warm and engaging environment for our residents while safely taking them to community outings, personal appointments, and special events. The Driver must inspect and safely operate community vehicles or van ensuring the safe loading and unloading and timely delivery of residents while complying with all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and Clearwater Living policies and procedures.

Pay Rate: $22.00-$24.00/hour

Schedule: Sunday-Monday 8:30am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

• Schedule and safely transport residents to doctors’ appointments, local outings/excursions and other planned trips as directed by the Lifestyle Director
• Assist with the safe loading and seating of residents onto and off of the community vehicles(s) making certain that all residents are properly secured before driving
• Conduct daily inspection and safety checks on vehicle(s) before the first use and following the final use of the day
• Schedule regular maintenance of all community vehicles as necessary
• Ensure that the community vehicle/van(s) are in proper operational order, registration and insurance information is present and up-to-date and promptly report any/all safety, mechanical or maintenance issues to supervisor
• Maintain communication throughout the community with use of cell phone or radio to always remain comprised of resident location and status as necessary
• Assist with scheduling outings and/or medical appointments as needed, planned property activities and programs within the community between vehicle trips
• Perform day-to-day clerical work associated with the position including tracking trips/residents, logging maintenance checks, etc.
• Display a positive and professional image through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
• Represent the Clearwater Living principles and core value on a daily basis
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required

Qualifications

• Class B License required
• Ability, licensure and willingness to drive the community vehicles or van
• High School Diploma or GED required
• AA degree preferred or a minimum of two years of work experience in the industry
• Background clearances as required by government regulations and the Department of Transportation
• Must meet health requirements, including TB
• First Aid/CPR/BLS Certificate required
