Base pay range

$17.75/hr - $19.70/hr

Job Summary

Plays an important part on the CARING team by providing transportation for Caring Adult Day Care clients to attend the program, and transportation for outings, medical appointments, and assisting with other center activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license
  • Valid (CDL) commercial driver’s license class "A, B, or C" with passenger endorsement
  • Careful driver with passenger driving experience
  • Ability to read and understand English
  • Ability to accept supervision and work independently
  • Familiarity with the Atlantic County area of New Jersey
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Drive clients to and from programs, appointments, and outings using safe driving practices.
  • Operate passenger and wheelchair vans, including the use of lifts.
  • Greet clients courteously, assist with boarding and disembarking, and ensure safety seatbelts and tie-downs are secured.
  • Complete manifests and vehicle checklists accurately, report vehicle issues.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Transport supplies and mail as needed.
  • Attend training sessions such as CPR/FA, Defensive Driving.
  • Assist with serving lunch, cleanup, and toileting if requested.
  • Work as part of a team to optimize routes for efficiency.
  • Meet Department of Transportation requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
