Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local, home-daily routes in the Tempe, AZ area. The role offers weekly pay, competitive hourly rates, and a 40-hour guarantee with paid training.

Start times are early morning, with no weekends and a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. Company benefits are available after 30 days, and training is provided to operate the equipment required for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months verifiable driving experience.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• DOT physical required.
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks as described in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a vehicle and comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with loading/unloading if required.
• Follow federal/state laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Support customers and deliver cargo as directed by routing instructions.

• Hours Per Week: 25- 35 hours per week

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck):
• 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
