Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a delivery driver in Marlborough, MA. The role involves unloading cylinders, delivering to diverse customers, handling paperwork, and ensuring Hazmat compliance.

You will follow a route plan, perform inspections, and interface with customers daily to ensure safe, compliant deliveries. Requirements include a valid Class A CDL, Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain, DOT medical certificate, and at least 2 years of driving experience or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• 2 years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training program
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in past 2 years
• No alcohol-related convictions in last 10 years
• Current medical examiner's certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid Class A CDL is required and Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Unload and deliver cylinders to customer locations, and reload empties to the vehicle
• Drive approximately 30% of the day and handle delivery, cylinder handling, shipping paperwork
• Accurately count and record quantities and product styles delivered and picked up
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping papers per DOT/TC regulations
• Log vehicle inspections and Hazmat compliance; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify repairs/maintenance needs and ensure timely service
• Interact with internal and external customers during daily routes
• Use handheld devices for paperwork, Hazmat prep, load/trip reports
• Follow a computer-generated Route and Sequence delivery plan

Job description

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle
• Driving represents approximately 30 % of the day, the remaining portion of the day includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, vehicle AM and PM inspections
• You will accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations
• Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and LINDE standards
• You will conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time
• You will operate a variety of equipment
• Regularly interface with both internal and external customers
• Delivery to all types of Industrial, Service, Educational and Medical customers
• You will be using handheld computers for conducting customer transaction paperwork as well as compliance needs such as Hazmat preparation, vehicle inspection reports, load report, trip reports etc.
• Following a computer-generated Route and Sequence delivery plan
