Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Shipping Clerk to handle shipping, receiving and order fulfillment duties at our Newark, CA facility. You will load/unload materials, prepare and verify shipping documents, and help maintain inventory alongside operations staff.

The role requires 1–2 years shipping experience, a valid driver’s license, and comfort with forklift operations plus basic Excel/Word skills. This ITAR facility emphasizes safety, 5S, and continuous improvement in daily tasks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Packaging and unpacking, crating and uncrating, strapping, wrapping materials for shipping.
• Serves as primary contact point for operational activities related to shipping.
• Coordinates with customer and suppliers to resolve shipping discrepancies promptly.
• Closes work orders and records shipping orders in the computer system, prints labels and shipping documentation.
• Completes shipping documentation (Domestic/International).
• Reports to area supervisor on conformance, inventory or materials reports.
• Supports receiving activities as required.
• Overtime work as necessary and safety rules adherence.
• Leads and participates in 5S and warehouse continuous improvement.
• Drives box van/truck and forklift; valid Class C license and driving experience.

Job Purpose

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Packs, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may also require operating a forklift and a box van. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand weighing up to 60 pounds
• Packaging and unpacking, crating and uncrating, strapping, wrapping materials for shipping.
• Functions as primary contact point for both, customer and internal management for all operational activities related to the shipping department
• Works with customer and suppliers to provide accurate data and proactively follow up for shipping discrepancies resolution on a timely manner
• Responsible for closing work orders and recording shipping orders on the computer system, printing and labeling items and shipping containers with the correct shipping documentation.
• Complete shipping documentation (Domestic/International)
• Reports to area supervisor for all matters relating to conformance, inventory or materials reports as required.
• May be assigned other material handler duties and responsibilities, and is expected to assist with receiving activities as required.
• This position requires working overtime when necessary
• This position requires the employee to proactively practice safety warehouse rules.
• This position requires the employee to proactively lead and participate in 5S and warehouse continuous improvement activities.
• This position requires the employee to complete all training assigned and required for the position in a timely manner.
• Drive a box van/truck and forklift. Valid driver's license (Class C) and driving experience with a box truck required.

Education And Experience

• This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of shipping experience, including experience with domestic and international shipping documentation.
