Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler in Newark, CA to support shipping, receiving and order fulfillment. You will load/unload materials, prepare shipments, maintain records and assist with inventory on the floor.

Requirements include 1–2 years shipping experience, a valid driver’s license, basic English, and a commitment to safety, 5S and continuous improvement. This ITAR facility requires US citizenship or lawful permanent residency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of shipping experience with domestic and international documentation.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to read English and communicate well with others.
• Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of safety warehouse rules; ITAR facility awareness.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads material onto/from pallets, weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Packages, crates, crates/uncrates, and labels items for shipping.
• Primary contact for customer and internal management on shipping activities.
• Coordinates with customers and suppliers to resolve shipping discrepancies promptly.
• Closes work orders and records shipping data in the computer system.
• Overtime may be required; adheres to safety warehouse rules.
• Leads and participates in 5S and warehouse continuous improvement activities.
• Drives a box van/truck and operates a forklift; valid license required.

Job Purpose:

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.Packs, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may also require operating a forklift anda box van. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

This job requires the ability to load, unload, and move materials within or near the plant or work site. It also requires the ability to perform warehouse and shipping activities, or any combination of the following duties:

• Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand weighing up to 60 pounds
• Packaging and unpacking, crating and uncrating, strapping, wrapping materials for shipping.
• Functions as primary contact point for both, customer and internal management for all operational activities related to the shipping department
• Works with customer and suppliers to provide accurate data and proactively follow up for shipping discrepancies resolution on a timely manner
• Responsible for closing work orders and recording shipping orders on the computer system, printing and labeling items and shipping containers with the correct shipping documentation.
• Reports to areasupervisor for all matters relating to conformance, inventory or materials reports as required.
• May be assigned other material handler duties and responsibilities, and is expected to assist with receiving activities as required.
• This position requires workingovertime when necessary
• This position requires the employee to proactively practice safety warehouserules.
• This position requires the employee to proactively lead and participate in 5S and warehouse continuous improvement activities.
• This position requires the employee to complete all training assigned and required for the position in a timely manner.
• Drive a box van/truck and forklift. Valid driver's license (Class C) and driving experience with a box truck required.

Education and Experience:

• This position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of shipping experience, including experience with domestic and international shipping documentation.
