Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. is seeking a Driver Manager in Perryville, MD to ensure effective driver management and seamless customer freight delivery.

The role acts as a link between the business, our drivers and customers, coordinating with multiple teams to optimize operations. The position supports a 1st shift schedule (Wednesday-Sunday, 4 p.m.-1 a.m.) with a starting salary range of $61,800 to $77,300 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years of equivalent work experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with a variety of teams, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Make safety-conscious decisions that ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Balance the needs of our customers, drivers and the business.
• Provide continuous, structured and proactive performance management and coaching to drivers.
• Manage driver payroll and home time.
• Collaborate with various teams to identify and implement creative solutions to improve retention and drive business.
