Job summary

Schneider National, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking a Driver Manager to ensure successful execution of customer freight delivery through effective driver management. This role acts as a link between the business, drivers and customers.

The Driver Manager will make safety-conscious decisions, balance customer and driver needs, and provide performance coaching. The position is full-time, first shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m.) with strong emphasis on collaboration and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years of equivalent work experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with a variety of teams, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Make safety-conscious decisions that ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Balance the needs of customers, drivers and the business.
• Provide continuous, structured and proactive performance management and coaching to drivers.
• Manage driver payroll and home time.
• Collaborate with various teams to identify and implement creative solutions to improve retention and drive business.
