Job summary

Shelton Trucking LLC in Houston, Texas is seeking a Driver Manager to oversee daily operations of the fleet personnel. You will manage activities, communicate ETAs, and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining high levels of safety and productivity.

Ideal candidates should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience in logistics, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. This full-time position offers healthcare benefits and a Monday-Friday work schedule from 7 am to 5 pm.

Qualifications

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or 1-3 years of experience in dispatch or fleet management.
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish is favorable.
• Proficient experience with truck dispatch software is necessary.
• Flatbed experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Must be detail-oriented with great interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate ETAs with load planners.
• Utilize McLeod to assign work to drivers nationwide.
• Direct daily driver activities per company policies.
• Provide guidance on compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure safety, productivity, and timely delivery by drivers.
• Counsel drivers on over-the-road issues.

Job Description

We are looking for a Driver Manager to manage the daily activity of our driver personnel. If you are looking for a career that gives you the opportunity to be a GREAT manager for our GREAT fleet, this is the perfect job for you!

Responsibilities

• Communicate ETAs with load planners
• Utilize McLeod, which is our operating software, to assign work to drivers all over the country
• Direct the daily activities of drivers to designated territories or dedicated operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and business objectives
• Providing drivers with guidance on complying with any applicable local, state and federal statutes regulating the trucking industry.
• Ensure that drivers are safe, productive, and deliver on-time to our customers.
• Counseling drivers and assisting them with over the road issues
• Assist drivers with keeping important documents up to date such as driver’s license renewal, random drug tests and physicals

Qualifications

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or any related field or 1-3 years of experience in dispatch or fleet management
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish (Favorable)
• Proficient experience with truck dispatch software
• Flatbed Experience a plus
• Microsoft Office knowledge
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be detail oriented and have a great interpersonal skills
