Responsibilities

  • Transport clients, personnel, supplies, mail, and other cargo as needed.

  • Ensure clients are safely secured and assisted entering/exiting vehicles.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance, like changing bulbs.
  • Report vehicle malfunctions to supervisor and keep records.
  • Attend staff meetings and training on policies and safety.
  • Comply with state and federal vehicle operation regulations.
  • Assist clients during transportation and promote positive relations.

General Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the designated Adult MH clinic director, the Custodian/Driver position at Camino Real Community Services will be required to perform general cleaning/janitorial duties, i.e., floors to be clean, attractive, and obstruction free within the common areas of the building, ensuring walls, window, doors, furniture are clean, disposing contents of trash receptacles to ensure a sanitary and orderly office, restrooms to be given dailyattention to hidden and/or hard to reach areas where dirt/grime can build up, along with having an infection free restroom facilities,maintaining break area/kitchenclean,maintaining a neat and orderly janitor's room stocked with cleaning and maintenance supplies. This position will also require skilled motor vehicle operations, including operating vans or automobiles for transporting consumers, personnel, supplies, mail, and other cargo.TheCustodian/Driverrole involves working according to prescribed rules, regulations, and schedules, and adhering to written and verbal instructions whilemaintainingcompliance with prescribed safety procedures.requiresthe upkeep and maintenance of company vehicles to ensure safe and reliable transportation for staff and clients. The ideal candidate for this position should have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and experience in vehicle maintenance. In addition, the ability to work independently, follow directions, and communicate effectively with staff and clients is essential. TheCustodian/Diverposition is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the MH Center and associated program areas, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization's mission.

  • Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building, including washing windows and maintaining a neat and orderly janitor's room stocked with cleaning and maintenance supplies. (please review the above general description of duties and responsibilities)
  • Transport clients, personnel, supplies, mail, and other cargo as needed to designated locations while adhering to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the company vehicles, including checking for defects or damage, validating state registration and inspection stickers, and ensuring proper operation of all operating systems (e.g., brakes, horn, windshield wipers, lights, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and door-opening devices) before starting trips.
  • Ensure that all clients and caregivers are safely and properly secured, including any necessary assistance required for boarding or exiting the vehicle, and assisting clients in reaching their designated offices or treatment areas upon arrival.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging pipes.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately and maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs to submit to the proper authority.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required to stay informed about organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to vehicle operations, including maintaining appropriate licensing and certifications as required.
  • Provide whatever assistance is required for clients and caregivers during transportation and promote positive public relations with patients, family members, and guests.
  • Serve as the delegated safety officer for the MH Center and associated program area.
  • Support the principles of trauma-informed care by fostering a safe and respectful environment for clients and staff.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
