Job summary

The State of Washington is seeking a dynamic leader to join the Driver Licensing Policy & Business Support team within the Department of Licensing’s Customer Relations Division. You will direct policy interpretation, coordinate with multiple divisions, and drive program improvements affecting driver licensing services across the state.

This role requires strong management experience, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to implement policy changes through coordinated training and field

Qualifications

• Eight years of management, administrative, or technical experience in a licensing or regulatory program.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Three years interpreting complex laws and agency policies for program implementation.
• Three years developing or evaluating policies, procedures, or initiatives.
• Three years leading policy implementation or organizational change.
• Two years resolving complex customer issues requiring interpretation of laws or policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee policy interpretation and implementation planning for statewide driver licensing services.
• Coordinate with divisions, agencies, and stakeholders; represent Driver Licensing on cross-functional teams.
• Develop recommendations for program improvements, technology enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate with Training leadership to implement policy changes through communications and field support.
• Travel statewide to build relationships, supervise field staff, and support statewide initiatives.
