In this position, you will assess the physical and driving qualifications of applicants, as well as evaluating the mechanical condition of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards. This involves administering vision tests, including telebinocular and color perception assessments. A key responsibility will be conducting knowledge examinations for both non-commercial and commercial driver licenses to verify applicants' comprehension of the Vehicle Code and traffic signs. You will oversee pre-trip, skills, and driving tests according to departmental guidelines, and review applications, registrations, and permits for any signs of irregularities or fraud. It is essential to verify the authenticity of various documents, such as birth certificates and immigration papers, while accessing databases to confirm the validity of identity documents to support ongoing fraud prevention efforts.
