City and County of Honolulu's Department of Customer Services, Division of Motor Vehicles, seeks a Driver License Examiner I for O'ahu locations. You will administer written and vision tests, conduct road performance assessments, and determine eligibility for driver license categories 1 through 3.
Responsibilities include testing, licensing, verification of identity, fingerprints and fees, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Two (2) years of supervisory, driver training instructional, regulatory or related experience, including or supplemented by one (1) year of frequent public contact which involved explaining rules and regulations to others in determining their eligibility or non-eligibility for licenses, benefits or similar matters.
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), at the time of application. The required driver's license must be maintained throughout the course of employment in the position.
Candidates must possess a good driving record, as evidenced by a certified traffic abstract with no moving violations within the past three (3) years, in order to be appointed to positions in this class; and must possess an appropriate valid driver's license for at least three (3) years immediately preceding appointment.
