Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX seeks a full-time Delivery Driver to ensure efficient delivery of medical supplies and equipment to hospital operations. You will load/unload, follow DOT regulations, and maintain vehicle maintenance and delivery records.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation between locations, providing superior service to healthcare staff, and using mobile devices for documentation and communication. CDL may be preferred for Texas or Louisiana postings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in state of employment.
• CDL Class B preferred in Texas.
• CDL Class C preferred in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medical supplies, equipment, and mail to hospital operations.
• Monitor and schedule maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Adhere to Department of Transportation rules of the road.
• Safely operate a delivery vehicle between locations.
• Maintain delivery documentation for check-ins and check-outs.
• Communicate in English, verbally and in writing, under stress.
• Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare facility staff.
• Perform tasks using technology (smartphone/computer).

Summary

Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of essential medical supplies and various other items to support the operations of the Hospital and Health System. Adhere to the transportation routes and work alongside associates to keep daily operations on track. Required to operate a motor vehicle with appropriate licensure and maintain a regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivery of medical supplies, medical equipment, mail, and other items to support the hospitals operations.
• Responsible for monitoring and scheduling maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Maintain knowledge of Department of Transportation rules of the road.
• Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport supplies between multiple locations.
• Maintain proper documentation of delivery for check ins and check outs.
• Communicate in English both verbally and in writing and perform under stressful conditions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare facility staff, demonstrating preofessionalism and sensivity to their needs.
• Perform various tasks and follow processes using technology (ie. smart phone and computer).
• Excellent Organizational and time management skills.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience

• Previous driving courier experience preferred
• Exceptional driving record with no major violations
