Job summary

Service Sanitation, Inc in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Service Technician to provide portable restroom services for events, construction sites, and recreation areas. You will manage daily routes, communicate with dispatch, and ensure safe handling of equipment using a company-provided truck and trailer.

Role offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid weekly, pay increases every 6 months in the first two years, and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid For-Hire Endorsement (Indiana) or CDL with a good driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to work 10–12 hour shifts and overtime.
• Strong safety conscience and ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Pick-up, deliver, move portable restroom equipment safely on and off truck and trailer.
• Perform servicing duties to high standards including evacuating waste, scrubbing, stocking, and dating units.
• Operate a stake-bed/pumper vac-truck and tow trailers as assigned.
• Complete daily paperwork (work orders, route sheets, DOT logs) accurately.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure service quality.
• Adhere to DOT regulations, safety guidelines, and company procedures.

Service Technicians are a vital face of the company while in the field and assisting our customers. As a Service Technician, you will be supplying necessary portable restroom services to special events, construction sites, and recreational areas. Each day, you will be assigned a daily route on a tablet of the locations and tasks that need to be completed while communicating with our dispatch team and customers. You will be responsible to pick-up, deliver, move, and service portable restroom equipment safely and efficiently using a company provided stake-bed/pumper truck and trailer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Pick-up, deliver, move portable restroom equipment safely and efficiently on and off truck and trailer by hand and dolly.
• Performing service duties to the high standards set by SSI, including evacuating waste tanks, scrubbing, stocking, and dating units.
• Drive and operate a specialized stake-bed/pumper vac-truck weighing up to 26,000 lbs., along with towing flatbed trailers loaded with portable restrooms.
• Completing daily paperwork, such as work orders, route sheets, and DOT logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Working independently, maintaining productivity, and fostering open communication with the dispatch center and manager.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, listening, and observation skills to deliver a superior level of customer service.
• Adhering to all D.O.T regulations, safety guidelines, and company procedures to create a secure and efficient work environment.
• Utilizing technology and navigation skills to enhance job performance.

Requirements:

• A valid For-Hire Endorsement (Indiana), Class C (Illinois), or CDL with an insurable driving record.
• The physical capability to lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 80lbs on a regular and repetitive basis.
• Possession of a current DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain one.
• Flexibility to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating a commitment to providing reliable services year-round.
• Capacity to work extended hours, including 10–12-hour workdays and overtime.
• A strong commitment to safety consciousness and a drug-free workplace.
