Founded in 1912—the year Arizona achieved statehood—ASDB serves over 2,000 children who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind from birth through grade 12. Our services include two schools for the deaf, one school for the blind, a statewide Early Learning Program (including birth to three and preschool programs), and Itinerant Services for students attending partner district schools. Work Calendar: 12-Month
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide training to staff to become certified to drive a school bus per Arizona rules/regulations.
  • Perform driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and road tests.
  • Maintain a database for tracking certification, physical examinations, and drug test results.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit.
  • Principles and practices of administration and management.
  • Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
  • Training principles, methods, and strategies.
  • Federal and State laws regulating school bus driver testing requirements.
SKILLED IN:
  • CPR, First Aid, and bus evacuation procedures.
  • Public speaking.
  • Office equipment and computer programs.
ABILITY TO:
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and large groups.
  • Plan and organize training modules.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pass FBI and State background checks.
  • Valid Arizona CDL with passenger and S endorsements.
  • Valid Arizona School Bus Instructor certification.
  • Obtain CIT (Crisis Intervention Training), CPR, and First Aid certifications for positions working directly with students.
  • Complete Defensive Driver Training program.
  • Pass a post-offer physical.
  • ASL skills if working with deaf staff/students.
BENEFITS
