Job description

COMPANY: HOME SWEET CITY
COMPANY OVERVIEW:

As the highest-rated short-stay property management company in Washington, D.C., our family-owned business has managed quality rental properties for over ten years.

It all began when we rented our basement apartment through Airbnb in 2009. Having experienced impressive success, we began offering our services to other homeowners looking for cost-effective ways to maximize their rental income.

Fast forward, and we now employ a fantastic property management team, managing short-term rental properties in and around the Washington D.C. area, and are proud to have been featured in prominent publications like The Huffington Post and The Wall Street Journal.

But, even more than all of that, we’re proud to have built a close-knit and highly successful team. With that in mind, we are seeking someone to join us who is a great team player and oozing with positivity to join our all-star team with an aspiration to grow and develop personally.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Do you enjoy a workday filled with being out and about? If so, this is the role you’ve been searching for. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and reliable Driver and Housekeeping Runner to join our field team managing over 100 quality short-term rental properties in the Washington, D.C., area. On any given day, we can have between 5 and 25 turnovers, with guests departing and new guests arriving on the same day. For these turnovers to run seamlessly, it is critical that each property has all the essentials ready to prepare for the next incoming guest and also is closely checking for damages at our properties to the admin team (for example a guest broke a lamp) and maintenance issues (HVAC is not working or the sink is leaking water) These need to be reported to the admin team for them to take action.

To do this effectively, you must be organized and a great communicator with a great attention to detail who can work collaboratively with our guest services team to ensure each guest has the 5-star experience we are so renowned for.

There will be a considerable amount of driving involved so reliable transportation is a must. To succeed in this role, you must be a team player who can manage your time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure tasks are carried out on time. Access to the Internet and email and the capability to use technology to complete your duties on the go are also necessary!

The exciting role is very active and so perfect for a high-energy individual open to some medium heavy lifting, some walking, and up flights of stairs depending on the property (Bringing linen bags with bedding to a second floor or third floor as an example)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Capability to reach overhead and below the waist.
  • Regular pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 50 pounds (Example move a table or moved a couch to different position)
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist

So, if you're ready to put your skills into action in an engaging, varied role, we’d love for you to apply today!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lots of odd jobs and tasks including drop-offs, checking up on properties, and completing smaller maintenance items. There will be a good amount of driving involved.

  • Pick up and drop off linens in the properties/office
  • Pick up and drop off toiletries, bathroom supplies, etc
  • Conducting property inspections
  • Work with the admin team, property managers, and cleaners to meet guests' needs
  • Purchase items from nearby stores and drop them off at properties on request or as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Verbal & written communication in English is required. Spanish is a plus.
  • Continually reliable and capable of meeting daily expectations.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a current driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Maintain team dynamics by putting the team and the company first.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & MORE:

  • Paid time off, such as PTO, sick days, and vacation days
  • Health insurance
  • Commuting/travel assistance
