Job summary

Palmer Food Services seeks a delivery assistant to support the commercial delivery driver by loading and unloading, contacting customers, and handling payments. You will deliver products using a handcart or ramp, ensuring product integrity and accurate paperwork such as driver logs and mileage sheets.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and fluent English. You’ll work Monday–Friday with early start times, participate in mandatory meetings, and maintain

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to lift product weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Able to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle.
• Must be able to walk, bend, lift, and operate a handcart up and/or downstairs.
• Fluent English with writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the commercial delivery driver with loading/unloading, contacting customers, collecting payments, and coordinating with the Transportation office.
• Deliver products using a handcart or ramp to maintain product integrity in a prompt, safe manner.
• Prepare and complete paperwork including reconciliation reports, driver log, mileage sheet, and product/return sheets.
• Learn invoicing and product return paperwork to account for deliveries and returns.
• Record daily mileage and delivery time.
• Maintain daily cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Attend mandatory Transportation department meetings.
• Present a professional image to internal/external customers and vendors with appropriate dress and grooming.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assists the commercial delivery driver with loading and unloading items, contacting customers, collecting payments, keeping in touch with the Transportation office.
• Delivers of products using a handcart, ramp, and any other piece of equipment used in prompt, safe way that maintains the integrity of the product.
• Prepares and completes of the appropriate paperwork including but not exclusive of the reconciliation report, driver log (when applicable), pre-trip mileage sheet, product and return sheet.
• Learns and understands the appropriate invoicing and product return paperwork to accurately account for all products being delivered or returned.
• Records of mileage and delivery time daily.
• Maintains daily cleanliness of vehicle driven.
• Attends all Transportation departmental meetings that have been stated as mandatory.
• Presents a professional image to internal/external customers and vendors with appropriate dress according to the work situation while maintaining good grooming and hygiene.

Qualifications:

• A High School diploma or GED.

• $17.00- $19.00/ Hour

Shift:

• Monday - Friday, Start Time is between 4am - 6am
• 10 - 12hr shifts

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, sit
• Must be able to use hands to handle and feel objects, perform fine finger movements, reach with hands and arms, and have the ability to see, talk, and hear.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 100 lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods with temperatures reaching -10
• Possess normal vision with or without correction and able to distinguish colors
• Possess fluent speech in English, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively carry out job functions
