Job summary

Grandview Millwork, a Mead Lumber Company, seeks a Driver Helper for the Millwork Shop to safely load, unload, and handle windows, doors, trim, and related materials. You will assist with deliveries as a driver helper and support inventory control while delivering excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes physical work outdoors, operating basic shop equipment, and maintaining safety in a fast-paced millwork environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate or obtain certification for forklifts and chainsaws.
• Desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Self-motivated and productive.
• Physical strength to lift and carry 75 pounds consistently.
• Ability to use a tape measure and follow directions.
• Customer-oriented self-starter who is a quick learner and adapts easily to new tasks.
• Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand basic mechanical systems.
• Lumber yard material handling, order fulfillment, and long-load forklift experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Load and unload millwork products, including windows, doors, trim, hardware, and other building materials, according to sales invoices and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and stage customer orders for pickup and delivery, ensuring accuracy and product quality.
• Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo.
• Receive, inspect, stock, and organize millwork inventory and vendor deliveries.
• Label, track, and organize special-order millwork products.
• Listen and work with customers to identify and meet their product and service needs.
• Assist with handling, packaging, and securing windows, doors, trim, and other millwork products to prevent damage.
• Assist with basic maintenance and safe operation of equipment such as forklifts, banders, saws, and other material-handling equipment.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe millwork shop, warehouse, and yard.
• Assist with occasional deliveries as a driver helper, including loading, unloading, and delivering materials to customers when needed.
• Perform duties in all types of weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
