Job summary

Watkins Distributing, LLC. is seeking a Driver helper/merchandiser to support our delivery and merchandising teams across Idaho and Montana.

You will assist drivers with local deliveries, stock shelves, rotate products for freshness, and set up displays and POS materials at grocery and beverage outlets along the route. Responsibilities include unloading with pallet jack or hand truck, installing signage, and ensuring accurate product placement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and move cases ranging from 20-30 lbs regularly and up to 160 lbs to waist level.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance; mileage reimbursement provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with local deliveries within a defined territory.
• Unload product from trailer using pallet jack or hand truck.
• Stock and rotate products in coolers, shelves and displays.
• Build and dismantle promotional displays and endcaps.

Job description

Who We Are:

Watkins Distributing is a family owned and operated beverage distribution company that has serviced Idaho and Montana for four generations.

Job Summary:

Driver helper/merchandisers support our delivery and merchandising teams by helping drivers with local deliveries within a defined territory and by traveling to grocery stores and other beverage outlets to ensure our products are stocked, displayed, and rotated correctly in accounts along their route.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help deliver product in a safe, timely, and professional manner.


• Unload product from trailer using a pallet jack and/or hand truck.


• Handle a wide array of different beverage products, safely and efficiently.


• Fill all cooler space, shelf space, displays, and backstock areas with beverage products.


• Rotate stock to comply with “sell-by” dates and company freshness standards.


• Build, maintain, and dismantle branded promotional displays and endcaps.


• Install signage, decals, and promotional point-of-sale materials.


• Pick up empty keg shells, damaged items, or mis-ordered product for credit.


• Drive a company or personal vehicle between stops.


• Communicate effectively with delivery drivers, sales representatives, merchandising supervisor, and store personnel, and follow directions they communicate.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Self-motivated, as they will not always have a supervisor on site.


• Organized, with strong time management, excellent attention to detail, and communication skills.


• Customer service orientation.


• Must be able to navigate a hand truck full of product.


• Ability to utilize standard hand-held computer input/output devices.


• Enjoys a position where they are active and moving around often.


• Prefers a flexible, dynamic position, as this is not a 9-5 “office job.”

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with no major violations.


• Reliable transportation to use throughout workday and proof of auto insurance. Mileage reimbursement provided.


• Must be able to lift and move cases ranging from 20- 30 lbs. regularly and 160 lbs. to waist level. Tasks include bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.


• Work independently across multiple retail locations, including early mornings and during weekends or peak holiday periods.


• Operate delivery vehicle safely in frequently varying weather conditions.
