Description: The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assisting the Driver with assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.
Responsibilities:
Assures all tasks are preformed according to company policies and procedures
Assures workplace safety – getting out of truck and assisting with backing up from outside the truck, staying awake with Driver during trips, watching road and being another set of eyes on the road.
Load and unload products from trucks or trailers
Put product away based at customer locations based on customer specifications
Assists Maintain the vehicle and equipment clean and safe
Assists with vehicle inspections before and after each trip
Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
Make sure inventory being delivered match's manifest
Report any incident to supervisor immediately
Attention to detail in all aspects of the safe transportation of food products food ware-housing practices and documentation
Follow all company and state-enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading products
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old with one year of driver helper experience
Ability to follow all safety protocols including spotting the Driver in close quarter maneuvers
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work flexible hours.
The ability to lift heavy objects.
Strong work ethic.
The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
The ability to respond quickly to sounds
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
The ability to see well at night
Lifting, bending, and moving for long hours
Ability to work around vehicles in a safe manner, including completing vehicle inspections
The position is an overnight position
Schedule varies, but optimized for customer service and DOT hours of service
