Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet seeks a Full Time Delivery Driver in Houston, TX to deliver seafood and other gourmet products with a focus on safety and customer service. You will handle daily load/unload, ensure proper documentation, and maintain perishable product quality throughout routes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers.
• Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route; ensure vehicle is secured during drop-offs.
• Load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other devices safely.
• Verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product.
• Follow DOT and HACCP regulations during operation and handling of products.
• Monitor temperature-controlled vehicle temps to maintain product quality.
• Provide professional customer service and report complaints to supervisor.
• Collect payments and record transactions, ensuring cash and checks are secured.
• Support Fleet Manager to keep vehicles maintained and records current.
• Execute other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The Delivery Driver will deliver and unload various company products, including, but not limited to, seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet products. The employee will act as key point of contact with the customer, and in so doing will provide the highest levels of customer service.The incumbent will ensure that high safety standards are always maintained while operating Fortune Fish and Gourmet’s vehicle. Moreover, the utmost care will be applied in handling the company’s perishable products in accordance with HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-trip responsibilities to include checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries.
• Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for vehicle.
• Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route. Ensure vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs.
• Load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other appropriate devices safely.
• Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product.
• Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday.
• Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and complete any necessary documents.
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of product.
• Monitor and ensure that temperature-controlled vehicles maintain required temperature limits to ensure product quality.
• Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs. Report any complaints to Supervisor.
• Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices. Ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) are properly secured.
• Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy.
• Supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience – One to two years of driving experience. Transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.
• Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing, and courteous customer service demeanor.
• Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Licensing - Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• Environmental – Available to work long shifts.
• Language – Basic English-speaking proficiency.
• A combination of the above will also be considered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving
• Regularly be able to lift up to 80 pounds; may occasionally need to lift over 80 pounds
• Requires constant mental and visual attention, as well as ability to see well in limited light scenarios
