Job summary

God’s Love We Deliver is seeking a Driver to safely deliver meals to clients in the New York City area. The role involves up to 60 stops per day, interacting with clients in a compassionate, courteous way and using routing technology to follow assigned routes.

The position requires a valid New York State Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Prior delivery/logistics experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Driver’s License required.
• Driving record must meet vehicle insurance and MVR eligibility.
• Previous commercial driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, compassionate client service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage routes efficiently, and meet delivery schedules.
• Able to frequently stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable working in all weather environments (e.g. cold and hot).

• Follow all food safety, vehicle safety, and organizational policies.
• Support and provide guidance to volunteer Van Assistants as needed.

About Us:

God’s Love We Deliver, a nonsectarian organization, is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitians, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of our clients. All of our services are provided at no cost to our clients.

About the Role

Our Drivers ensure the efficient and safe delivery of meals to the door of our clients, making up to 60 delivery stops per day. Drivers act as a public face of God’s Love We Deliver, and interact with our clients in a compassionate, courteous and professional manner.
