Job Description

As a member of the Thunderbird Transportation Team, your goal each day is to serve the residents of our community in a meaningful and cheerful way. Customer service is a top priority as we work to bring fun and fulfillment to their lives. If you enjoy working in a small team, interacting with people (especially seniors), and driving, then this is the job for you! Details below.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport senior residents to doctors’ appointments and other places in a timely and disciplined manner.
• Load and unload wheelchairs and walkers from vehicle(s). Help residents into a minivan, SUV or non-CDL bus along with navigating an easy to use lift system for mobility power chairs/scooters and help residents out to their appointment.
• Plan and research driving routes for scenic drives. Narrate during the drive, pointing out historic landmarks and vocalizing fun facts and history throughout the drive.
• Carry out complete pre-trip inspection of vehicle(s) to be used. Keep vehicles clean and vacuumed. Maintain drivers’ logbook. Comply with road traffic law enforcement agency regulations. Adhere to all safety requirements.
• Assist in facilitation of other activities programs as needed and as directed by the Resident Services Director.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Driving experience with company vehicle or company bus would be preferred
• Desire to serve and help others with a positive attitude
• Clean background and drug free lifestyle
• Stellar teamwork skills
• Ability to plan and communicate in both written and spoken English
