Job summary

BioTouch is seeking a Medical Courier Driver to transport medical specimens in our Maine service area. You will drive a personal vehicle, load/unload items, and ensure timely and secure delivery to laboratory facilities. The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and reliable transportation; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be HIPAA compliant at all times—Training will be provided.
• Knowledge of locating customer locations using GPS or maps.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Command of written and spoken English.
• Must possess valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Transport medical specimens and items between locations per customer requests.
• Load and unload items; ensure specimens, medicines, equipment or documents are safely secured.
• Deliver items to correct destinations in a timely manner according to routing specifications.
• Interact with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate and legible delivery records and obtain customer signatures where applicable.
• Communicate delays or changes in delivery status to dispatch and management.

Position Overview:

As a Medical Courier Driver, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for transporting medical specimens from various locations to our laboratory facilities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of these specimens, which directly impact the lives of patients awaiting diagnosis and treatment.

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour. We also provide mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for transporting patient specimens and medical items from one location to another per our customers request. This includes loading items into vehicle, driving to a specified destination, and unloading items per company procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested:

• Drives personal vehicle to transport medical items including specimen, and sensitive and confidential documents.
• Loads and unloads medical items from vehicle and ensures specimens, medicines, equipment or documents are properly maintained and safely secured based on specific Company requirements.
• Delivers the applicable items to the correct destinations in a timely manner and based on routing specifications
• Interacts with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
• Maintains accurate and legible delivery records and obtains customer signatures where applicable.
• Communicates with dispatch and management when there are delays with delivers, delivery status changes, etc.

• Ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Ability to manage time and complete daily tasks.
• Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, and a high level of attention to details.
• Command of written and spoken English
• Must possess valid Driver's License
• Reliable transportation and good driving record are a requirement.

Employee must be able to walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift 25 pounds or more.
