An established industry player is seeking a dedicated driver to ensure safe and timely transportation for residents. This role involves operating vehicles for various transportation needs, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and assisting residents with their mobility. Job Duties
The driver operates the vehicles for scheduled and non-scheduled transportation needs.
The driver is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicles, including monitoring gas and oil levels.
The driver assists with activities, as requested, and required by management.
The driver may assist with maintenance and safety activities, as requested and required by management.
The driver's license and safety record will be reviewed semi-annually.
Position Qualifications
A valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience to perform the job safely.
Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations.
Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents.
Physical stamina and good upper body strength to be able to aid residents into the vehicle safely as well as being able to lift heavy luggage, packages, and objects, as well as be able to load and unload them from their vehicle.
Education
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency certificate. A Defensive Driving Course is required.
Job Setting/Physical Demands
To fulfill job requirements, the employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting, or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures, as prescribed by the residence, must be used at all times.
In a typical 8-hour day, the employee may:
Stand/walk up to 6 hours a day.
Sit up to 2 hours a day.
Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
Occasionally lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
Frequently kneel, bend and reach.
Secure proper assistance for transferring and lifting residents, as needed.
