Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (active)

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices
• Ability to read gauges/meters and understand simple instructions in English
• Must be at least 21 years old; valid DOT Medical Card

Responsibilities

Job description

The Fuel Truck Driver operates a tanker fuel truck requiring a Class B or A CDL license with both a Tanker and Hazmat endorsement. The Driver safely transports diesel fuel for heavy construction equipment located on our construction/excavation job sites and ensures that the equipment is loaded with the proper amount of fuel. Must have experience and be familiar with bulk loading diesel fuel and able to fuel your own truck. This is a full-time Monday - Friday position with a typical start time of 5:30 a.m. THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.

Duties Include:

• Drive truck in a safe manner to and from assigned destinations in the tri-state area. Perform daily safety checks and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Adhere to and comply with all local, state, and federal traffic regulations and speed limits.
• Responsible for the condition of the truck. For example, keep the truck clean and in good working order.
• Driver must be familiar with DOT regulations and be always comply.
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record and CSA record.
• Must have a general knowledge of large truck maintenance.
• Adapt safely according to changing road conditions, weather conditions, and traffic pattern changes.
• Be familiar with heavy construction equipment that is used on construction/excavation sites, and able to read gauges and meters to ensure the proper amount of fuel is loaded.
• Perform labor tasks and other duties, such as light cleaning, maintenance, repairs, as assigned.
• Interact with co-workers and our customers and contractors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Must be at least 21 years old (insurance requirement).
• Must have at least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience with diesel fuel delivery, preferably to construction/excavation sites.
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and to write and interpret simple correspondence in English.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in both oral and written form.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Must have current, valid license to drive a Class A or B Commercial Motor Vehicle. Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements are required. Must have a current, valid DOT Medical Examination Certificate.
