Qualifications

Position: Driver - Filler
Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Join a dynamic team as a safety-focused Truck Driver at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. and help make the world more productive every day!

Our Driver - Filler are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a local route delivery vehicle to deliver hard goods, compressed gas cylinders, and related products to customer locations. This role requires communication and cooperation with customers, responding to their needs, and operating delivery vehicles in compliance with company and DOT guidelines. Additionally, you will fill, label, and prepare low-pressure packaged gas cylinders, operate and maintain cryogenic liquid filling systems. This position is physically demanding, requiring attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

Pay Range: $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will be doing: (CDL A or B)
  • Provide high standard of customer service during deliveries, including unloading products, moving to customer points, and reloading empty cylinders.
  • Drive as needed, including delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders and paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle inspections.
  • Accurately record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
  • Complete hazardous material shipping paperwork in accordance with DOT/TC regulations.
  • Placard vehicle according to hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Identify vehicle repairs or maintenance needs and ensure timely completion.
  • Process medical and industrial gas cylinders following plant guidelines.
  • Perform visual, physical, and odor tests on cylinders before filling, determining if retesting or repairs are needed.
  • Check for cylinder quantities, styles, and products, and fill as necessary.
  • Load and unload products from weekly shuttle trucks.
  • Operate and maintain cylinder scales and related equipment.
  • Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying shipment paperwork, entering data into the computer.
  • Maintain quality control documentation per company and government procedures.
  • Operate forklift and other plant vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What makes you great:

  • High School Degree/G.E.D. required
  • 2 years of driving experience or completion of a truck driver training program with similar equipment
  • No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or violations in the past 2 years
  • No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years
  • Current medical examiner's certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Valid Class A or B CDL required
  • Current Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Preferably 2+ years in a plant or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must be 21 years or older
