Job summary

Fastenal Co. is hiring a Full-time Over the Road Driver (DOT - CDL) Class A for routes serving our Jessup, PA distribution center and customer sites.

You will operate a late-model tractor or straight truck delivering to branches and on-site locations with 1–2 stops per route. The role requires DOT compliance knowledge, a current or in-progress Class A CDL, a Health Card, and HazMat endorsement (where applicable).

Qualifications

• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A CDL.
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one.
• Possess a current HazMat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (US, PR, Guam).
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DOT regulations for CDL Drivers and Hours-of-Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent service by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner.
• Utilizing a handheld scanner.
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.
• Interacting with shipping and receiving departments.
• Maintaining a clean work environment within equipment.
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment.
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Compliance with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations.
• Participating in health, safety and sustainability programs.

OVERVIEW

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals be on our transportation team! Working as a Full-time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A, you will be representing our fleet as you deliver to/from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and most routes average 1-2 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to travel
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior driving work experience
• Prior experience operating a forklift
