Job summary

Linde plc. is seeking a qualified Driver/Delivery professional in the United States for routine delivery of gas cylinders and related handling. You will unload, route, and reload cylinders, perform daily inspections, and maintain accurate shipment paperwork.

The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient customer service with focus on hazardous materials handling and vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years driving experience or completion of truck driver training with equipment similar to Linde.
  • No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in past 2 years.
  • No alcohol-related convictions in last 10 years.
  • Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass DOT physical.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire.
  • 21 years or older and able to read/write English.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and deliver products, and reload returns to vehicle.
  • Drive approximately 30% of the day; perform cylinder handling and order paperwork.
  • Accurately count and record quantities and styles delivered and picked up.
  • Complete Hazardous Material shipping papers per DOT/TC regulations.
  • Place placards per hazardous material rules and Linde standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report needed maintenance.
  • Load/unload weekly shuttle truck and operate forklift and plant vehicles.
  • Prepare warehouse transfer orders and document quantities in the system.
  • Maintain quality control documentation per company and government procedures.

Job description

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle
  • Driving represents approximately 30 % of the day, the remaining portion of the day includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, vehicle AM and PM inspections
  • Accurately counting and recording quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up
  • You will complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations
  • Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
  • You will conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time
  • Processes medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures
  • You will perform visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determines whether retesting and/or repairs are required
  • You are responsible for checking for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill any necessary product
  • You will load and unload product from weekly shuttle truck
  • Operates and maintains cylinder scales and associated equipment
  • Prepares warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and keys into the computer the quantities, styles and products filled in order to justify the stock inventory
  • Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per company and Governmental procedures
  • You will operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles
What makes you great
  • You have a High School Degree / G.E.D. is required
  • Two (2) years driving experience or have completed a course of instruction from a truck driver training school that operates equipment similar to Linde's
  • You have no preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past two (2) years
  • You have no alcohol related convictions within the last ten (10) years
  • A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Valid class A/B CDL is required
  • Current Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire
  • You have more than two (2+) years' experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred
  • You can read and write in English
  • You are 21 years or older

Pay Rate: $19.47 - $28.56 per hour, depending on experience.
