Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. in Greer, SC is seeking a Driver - Cylinder for a 1st shift role. You will deliver and unload cylinders, manage paperwork, and perform safety inspections in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a CDL B (Hazmat preferred) and strict adherence to DOT regulations. You will work on-site with occasional forklift operation and inventory tasks, supporting customer service and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of driving experience or completion of truck driver training.
• No preventable accidents or major violations in past two years.
• A DOT medical certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Valid Class A/B CDL and Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cylinders and unload at customer sites; reload empties to the vehicle.
• Drive approximately 30% of the day; handle deliveries, paperwork, and inspections.
• Accurately count and record quantities delivered and picked up.
• Prepare hazardous material shipping papers per DOT/TC regulations.
• Placard vehicle per hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report repairs as needed.
• Operate forklift and other plant vehicles; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Process warehouse transfer orders and document stock quantities.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle
• Driving represents approximately 30 % of the day, the remaining portion of the day includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, vehicle AM and PM inspections
• Accurately counting and recording quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up
• You will complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations
• Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
• You will conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time
• Processes medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures
• You will perform visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determines whether retesting and/or repairs are required
• You are responsible for checking for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill any necessary product
• You will load and unload product from weekly shuttle truck
• Operates and maintains cylinder scales and associated equipment
• Prepares warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and keys into the computer the quantities, styles and products filled in order to justify the stock inventory
• Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per company and Governmental procedures
• You will operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles

What Makes You Great

• You have a High School Degree / G.E.D. is required
• Two (2) years driving experience or have completed a course of instruction from a truck driver training school that operates equipment similar to Linde's
• You have no preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past two (2) years
• You have no alcohol related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid class A/B CDL is required
• Current Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire
• You have more than two (2+) years' experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred
• You can read and write in English
• You are 21 years or older

Pay Rate: $19.47 - $28.56 per hour, depending on experience.
