Job summary

Werner Enterprises is seeking a Safety Specialist to ensure DOT rules are documented, enforced, and resolved. You will provide driver support on hours of service, review logs, and update records to reflect accurate compliance data.

Responsibilities include auditing reports, handling disciplinary actions, and researching driver requests in the AS400 system, with a focus on timely, professional communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and company procedures.
• High school diploma or GED; Safety Specialist experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers with questions on hours of service.
• Research driver requests to make log corrections in the system.
• Review MVRs for DOT compliance and handle related actions.
• Document driver incidents, coaching, and counseling.
• Answer calls on liability, workers’ compensation, and cargo issues.
